Everyday Energy Boosters by Susannah Seton and Sondra Kornblatt

Meditation wasn't designed as an energy restorer, but that certainly is one of the side effects.  Because it allows your brain to produce more alpha and theta waves, which are at a slower frequency than our "paying attention" beta waves, it actually restores your mind.

People need one half hour of natural sunlight a day to keep the brain producing the correct amount of serotonin, the feel-good hormone.

Most clutter consists of things you aren't sure you really want.  Clutter is a pile of indecision.

Being tired spaces you out: you can't absorb information, you escape in daydreams, you need a break.  You can counter that spaciness and have more focus and attention if you get centered in your own body.

"Lazy" is a judgment we too often use when we mean "overwhelmed".

The Dalai Lama says to practice meditation when you don't need it, so the habit will be there when you do.

Delaying taking care of yourself can make you sick.

Acceptance is the power behind moving forward.

Worry is a toned-down form of fear.

The Chinese character for busy is a combination for the characters for heart and death -- meaning staying busy will ultimately kill you.
