Meditation in Action by Chӧgyam Rinpoche Trungpa

One fails to see life as it is because one tends so much to build up one's own version of it.

We don't have to search for the answer, because the question contains the answer in it.

You have to start with ego, and use ego, and from there it gradually wears out, like a pair of shoes.

Fear is one of the weapons of ego.  It protects the ego.

The teacher acts as a kind of mirror, the teacher gives back one's own reflection.  Then for the first time,  you are able to see how beautiful you are, or how ugly you are.
