We might think of our environment as a screen upon which the effects of our karma are projected. From this viewpoint one is born into particular circumstances are result of causes one has made in the past.




Because you stirred the water, it became dirty --- but no matter how hard you stir, if there is no sediment the water will remain clear. In other words, they are not aware that the cause of their unhappiness lies within themselves and that they are merely experiencing the effect of that cause after it has been activated by someone else.




We suffer in direct proportion to our own inherent tendency to do so.




Anger is not just stamping and shouting, it is also resentment, critical attitudes, begrudging time and effort, as well as lack of gratitude, respect and sincerity.
